People over politics

When I think about politics I honestly just get frustrated or sad. Politics has a way of bringing out the worst in people and hiding their best. I believe most people are wonderful and actually kind people from all walks of life. However when you take those people and sit them in a room and bring up politics you will see the ugliness not their beauty. I'm not talking about peoples political stances, I am talking how they view each other or then treat each other. Politics has a effect of dividing people who often agree on most things. But because of a few things they no longer see each other as people. We all do it I know I do, this artificial divide has had major consequences in how I have interacted with people and perceived them. In the United States this has divided families, social groups and even organizations. I am not saying you should give up on your beliefs and reasoning. However, I would say you should put those in their appropriate place so you can treat your fellow person with the grace and love that God wants us to do. We all are in this ship together and we need to recognize that we all do in fact need each other. When you are born in this world you do have a large collective debt to humanity and God.

The short and sweet of it is that it's better to see your peers in the best light possible especially when you disagree. This is how we move forward as a people and we owe it to our ancestors who have paid a mighty bill for us to be here. Then we also owe it to the next generations to pass on our progress and love.
