Serving God.
What does it mean to me to serve God?
This a very complicated and easily insulting topic for some people and I want to immediately get it out of the way. By saying that I don't think of this in terms of who's right and who's wrong on this concept. The lord calls us all to walk our paths laid out before us. I am a non-denominational Christian so I often feel like a outsider when talking with people who are a part of a specific church or group. I don't ever feel that they are wrong and I am right I just do my best and assume they are doing the same. The things that personally drove me out of going to church was the hatred expressed by my fellow Christians towards gay people. I am not trying to argue about gay being a sin. " I don't think it actually is a sin, I think it was actually describing a type of lust that was common in the Middle East and in Europe at the time where men would sleep with other men for pleasure and use their wives as breeding stock. This is a practice that existed throughout the ancient world and persists in some countries to this day." But the think I am trying to argue about is the hatred even towards sinners. We are no better than one and another none of us are free from sin in whatever form it takes. God says to love thy neighbor is the same as loving the lord God. Hating your neighbor or fellow human being is the same as hating God. I am not saying I have never felt hatred towards people but I realized that I was really hating the Lord and not helping my fellow person in their path to righteousness in the eyes of the Lord. Judge not lest yee be judged I think is exactly the Lord calling on us to recognize this fact. In devaluing your peers you open the door for evil into the world. I am not saying there are no people in my life I haven't disliked but the reality is those people exist and me hating them doesn't do anyone any good. I don't have to interact with those people I just pray for them and trust in the infinite wisdom of God.
I personally do believe that the bible has been edited by people who were not serving the Lord God but were serving the devil and their own personal ends. I don't believe in women being treated as a lesser being. When Adam was alone in the garden God saw that Adam was alone and this was not good. So the Lord created Eve " I don't think from Adam's rib" and Eve was Adams equal, his balance and his love. I think at one of the councils like the council of Nicaea these details were edited out or this was done at a earlier time by other people who had been misled away from the Lord. This is all to say nothing that enters this world is exempt from the war between heaven and hell. You will never find that peace here on earth. That only exists in heaven and while we are here we have a job to do in serving our peers. Loving thy neighbor is the same as loving the Lord God. I personally think war is a evil on this world that even when fought for noble and righteous ends still begets more violence eventually. Jesus Christ was God made flesh this was a being beyond any scale of power we can even begin to imagine. The Lord was peaceful, he was patience and most of all he loved his enemies. When we are struck we are told to turn the other cheek not to strike back. This is the way of the Lord. The world is filled with evils and this can be depressing for even the strongest amongst us. But like Mister Rodgers said whenever you see a disaster you can always find people helping. In those people in those moments you are seeing the Lord at work. We are not here to get rich, or powerful or any other worldly desire. We are here to serve the Lord for all our days. This is kindergarten for your immortal soul. Never forget that you are not a being of this world you are a child of the most powerful and wonderful being. A being that exists in infinite dimensions and had already seen the paths you will walk and is with you all along the way.
