Why Eve Online?

Why would ever in your God-fearing mind play Eve Online?

Eve is real is the refrain often heard from players in this game. Eve is both complicated and very simple in its execution. When you first play it you are met with a small ship in a hanger filled with random ads, advertising ships, campaigns, career programs, and more. Once you figure out how to undock you are launched into a scene of stars and space stations a view that is beautiful every time. Then you are confronted with tabs and screens showing you lists of objects ranging from more stars, planets, ships and asteroids. At this point you might start trying to figure out what you actually want to do in Eve.

I enjoy mission running which many players would consider to be for beginning players. The vast galaxy of New Eden is filled with dozens of mission types to run. I have found even the most mundane cargo hauling missions to be interesting and visually stunning. The ship design in Eve is second to none. Every faction has its own unique style and function. I personally favor Amarr and Gallente ships. The former being golden and sleek and the latter being dark and curved. My personal favorite ship in the game is the Confessor a tier three destroyer that is absolutely stunning in its multiple modes and functions. I will include a picture of it at the bottom of this blog. The community is just like community where ever you go. There's good there's bad, they're just people and these are people from a global audience. You will often encounter people from a different culture and country. Just mind your manners and trust no one. I personally have a list of rules I keep on my character biography to help out the random new player.

1st Lesson of EVE Don't fly what you can't lose. You will lose it.

2nd Lesson of EVE Be nice it goes a long way.

3rd Lesson of EVE Tears are just starship fuel, So don't give them fuel.

4th Lesson of EVE Trust is the most valuable item in the game and you can't buy it.

I joke about not recommending Eve online to anyone but I actually do recommend it to everyone. it's free and it's utterly unique in the world of gaming. If you do wander into New Eden just be patience and hunt the good stuff.

With much love and gratitude,

Fox

The Confessor

Eve Online in a nutshell. It has gotten better but when I began felt exactly like this. But with more lord of the flies.
