The mumbles
Science, God and you.
Science, God and you.
This is a very touchy subject for many people, but my goal is not to insult, offend or demean in any measure. We all have our faiths and that's okay no one is right 100% of the time. This is a argument more about creationism and evolution. I don't think this is a valid argument for many reasons, but the main reason is that it is a limiting factor on God. God has no limits never forget that. This is certainly not a unique opinion that I have, I have heard it many times and from many people. Evolution does not disprove the bible and does not go against the abilities of the Lord God. We are putting our own limited world views on a infinitely powerful being that literally made everything you see. Time is not a factor to the Lord, we perceive time because we are bound by it and how we perceive reality. God is beyond time and space God created time and space. Evolution is God's hand at work before our very eyes. It's actually a reassuring reminder that you are always around the will and ability of the Lord. We are in a moving painting with changing colors and themes. That to me is incredibly beautiful. I personally believe the biggest obstacles that we face in studying the bible is we either take it a face value always or without wider context. We are reading the works of often ancient people who had a very different world view and tool set than we have now.
To add all the layers of complexity that one factor alone adds is a mighty work indeed. To quote Dan Carlin " The past is a foreign country. People do things differently there." I would even add the past is functionally a alien world to us today. We are not influenced by the same carrots and sticks that they were shaped by. The same language alone across time even a short expanse of time changes radically. Just listen to the old films from the 1940's you will get most of it however, there will be terms and phases that will leave you lost in the sauce. Folks there are people who were alive in the 1940's around today. That is a very short period of time in terms of history. Now the bible has gone through multiple languages, millennia, cultures, governments, churches and other organizations all with their own goals and interests. A good example of how ancient people described events in their lifetimes is the tale of Thunderbird and the Whale. Which I recommend taking some time to look up and read. That is a tale used to describe a massive earthquake that happened in the pacific northwest.
That doesn't mean they were not telling us the truth they were using their culture and language the best they knew how to pass on a important lesson to their children. Never underestimate the love our ancestors truly did hold for us. They did the best they could with the tools they had. That doesn't mean the bible doesn't contain gold. I do think it's the most important book ever handed down, and that's why you should pan for gold from it. Because there is absolutely incentive for bad faith actors to alter it to their ends. Along with all of the possible cultural context as well as documents missing. I do believe in the bible largely however nothing that peoples hands have handled on this earth is exempt from our failings. When you read the slavery laws among many other things in the bible you have to filter that through the love of God and Christ. If what you are reading seems to fall short of that higher ideal you need question it. I know that is a very difficult and uncomfortable proposition for everyone. The main thing I would focus on is that we are meant to have faith and walk with love in our hearts like Christ taught us. Never assume we have the full picture, this is a spiritual battle that we have to wage with love and grace. We will never know the full tale of our pasts.
So when you hear that God doesn't use evolution never forget that one you are putting your own constraints on God. Also remember we are working from a ancient text with a lot of complications that can be incredibly difficult to parse. However it is absolutely worth parsing this information. Our ancestors wrote these words down because they truly did love us and wanted to arm us for this world. May God bless us all.

Dunbar's number and you.
Dunbar's number and you.
"Dunbar's number is a suggested cognitive limit to the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships—relationships in which an individual knows who each person is and how each person relates to every other person." 150 stable relationships. Link here. This number speaks to me as a calling of the higher path where we strive to sonder our peer's across the globe. I hate that I have to use this quote but I feel that it highlights this issue perfectly. From one of history's greatest monsters Joseph Stalin: "One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic" I really really hate this guy. I will always be fascinated by him like we are a black hole. There is no completion for who is the most evil person ever. I say that because of the stick in my own eye. He really is a insight into the depths of public darkness that we all can fall into. This is why Jesus talks about the narrow way because this alternate path has a inertia all its own. We must be mindful of our own blindness and our own cruelty no matter how small or banal. I have no concept of the evil or good I have done in this life. But regardless I will always reach for the light not for me but for everyone I can help find the light. I can't speak for everyone's path but for me the job is to make sure my neighbor cup runneth over before I see mine full. Not because I am better but because I have had my fair chances at the Kingdom of heaven and I must repay my debt to God and my peers. We are our brothers and sisters keeper we will never measure up to the love and grace of the Lord.
I spent that paragraph warming ya'll up to the idea of that we scientifically are only able to maintain 150 stable relationships with other people. This is potentially a hard number in the way we process our peers as human. We are more than our physical bodies. We are immortal beings in mortal containers, every action we take in this world in a reflection or imprint on our immortal souls. This is kindergarten folks never forget that. We have to make sure as make as many people as we can get to the other side of grace is not out of greed or desire for betterment for ourselves but because we are all children of the Lord. remember loving thy neigbor is the same as loving the Lord God. I have spent a long time in my life arguing this point form the most selfish perspective to save them in my own negative perspective of my peers. The line I would use is: " The most selfish thing you can do is look after your neighbor." This is actually a truth you can genuinely see this as a selfish act and that is the flaw with the argument I would use. The reality is always it's a act of faith you can never fool the Lord your heart will always be laid bare. We have to invest in our neighbors future not for ourselves but for them for that is truly the nature of selfless love. I will never say this is a easiest concept I struggle with it daily. We must learn to emulate the love of Christ, we will never achieve the heights of his love. However, we must try all the same this life is always a rollercoaster it goes up and it goes down as my dad said God bless him. This life is a gift and a lesson all wrapped in one. Never take for granted the love of God in this act. This is no small thing and we must do our best to rise to the occasion even if we will always fall short of the glory.
I love you all and wish nothing but the best for you.
With much gratitude and love Fox.

Kingsman bio-tracking gel and the sim card apocalypse
Kingsman is a action comedy about British spies of a agency called Kingsman. The plot is basically Richmond valentine wants to cull the global population using cell phone waves to incite global violence. To get it out of the way they could have absolutely used radio jammers to negate the signal and prevent the culling. However, it's movie, so there's no reason to dive in deep and analyze every little thing.
So lets dive in deep on the bio tracking gel mentioned in one scene and how it could possibly be done and what are its limitations. Mr Valentine at one point gives Harry "Galahad" some wine spiked with a gel containing Nanobots for tracking his location for 24 hours. After some basic Googling I have discovered that is very possible and the movie even played down the actual capabilities of such technology. There are multiple types of Nanobots out there such as: Biochip, Nubots, Surface-bound systems, Positional nanoassembly, Biohybrids, Bacteria-based, and Virus-based. There are others I am sure but these were the most commonly listed varieties. These bots can actually in some cases last in your body for years or even decades potentially. This dependent on multiple factors material, the immune response and location. These devices can even send radio, microwave and millimeter Waves outside of the body up to 2 meters approximately. "On October 31, 2007, a team of researchers under Alex Zettl at the University of California, Berkeley created one of the first nanoradios. Their experiment consisted of placing a multilayered nanotube placed on a silicon electrode and connecting it to a counter electrode through a wire and a DC battery. Both the electrode and nanotube were also put in a vacuum of about 10−7 Torr. They then placed the apparatus into a high-resolution transmission electron microscope to document the movement of the nanotube. They observed the nanoradio vibrating and transmitted a song called "Layla" by Eric Clapton. After some minor adjustments, the team was able to transmit and receive signals from a couple meters across the laboratory; however, the initial audio receptions from the radio were scratchy which Zettl believed was due to the lack of a better vacuum." This technology could theoretically be use to track Galahad for years not just 24 hours. There are some basic counter measures that he could have deployed to avoid this tracking like a radio jammer, ceramics, and metal. However, he was unaware of the bio-tracker. The future of this technology is both fascinating and terrifying in equal measure. This technology can be used potentially for microsurgery, monitoring the patient's blood, DNA repair and many more things.
When I first started this article I was trying to figure out how likely it would be for the Nanobots to be able to last 24 hours. Very quickly it became clear they can easily last much longer. Especially non-organic varieties and the future of this technology includes self replicating varieties as well. I am going to do more dives into this type of stuff in movies to see if what they are talking about is in the realm of reality or just plain fiction.

Cultural Molds
Cultural Molds.
How your culture shapes your perspective on everything you do and see. I am a American man who was raised and currently live in Northern California. When you hear that your own cultural impression shapes what you hear there. From my own experience people think I am all about guns and I must live next to celebrities. That there's a cultural shade that colors that identity and perspective. For me, it makes me think of foothills, grasslands, BBQ's, the summer heat and honest hardworking people. Northern California where I live is a lot closer culturally to Texas than San Francisco or Los Angeles. Where I live the people are much more conservative, religious and down to earth. That is not a blanket truth, people here are very diverse because this is the United States and this is California. But that is the tend overall and I love it. I am a mix I can be very conservative and very Liberal in my cultural attitudes. I am very religious, and I was raised that way. This mix does have a cultural blinder that shapes the way I see the world from the big to the small.
When I think of cities I think of them as being too busy, noisy and the people being rude and impatient. However, I have lived in a large city and did find a mix of people from many walks of life. Some good some bad, but I always felt like the country mouse in the big city, so I left. When I see all that concrete and steel I am sad at the lack of nature. When I talked to people in the city about it, they thought of the country often as being dirty and boring. I would say we are both right because of our cultural perspectives and values we see reality in our ways. When you talk about something as large as the United States you really are dealing with thousands of different cultural perspectives across the many regions and peoples. Those combined are what make us great. People talk like we should all think alike however, not only is that impossible it's a enormous waste of that accumulated knowledge that we all share. I don't have a love for money or the market. However, we do need those people who have a passion and interest in those fields. They also need people who can farm and see the value in a handful of dark earth. These diversities are what enable us to go out and do the great things that life requires. They are not the only factor by any means in our abilities and needs, but these cultural perspectives are often overlooked and undervalued.
Another example I spent some time in the south when I was in the military as a rural kid from California often I was struck by how different they really were to me and also how similar we all were in different ways. I talked and thought too fast to them and they were agonizingly slow paced and relaxed for me. They went on and on about how at least is isn't a dry heat which always seemed insane to me given how brutal humidity in the heat was to me. These were not universal statements but these were experiences I had. The reality is when you travel even in the United States you really are kinda going to different country with different values. We are all Americans and we believe in this country and what makes it great. Those differences really do add to that greatness.
So I really would recommend to my fellow Americans to get out and see the other parts of this beautiful country and walk in their shoes and gain their perspectives. If you go with a open heart and mind it will never cease to amaze you the different lifestyles people have.

U and the UFO.
U and the UFO.
I have always been fascinated with space and the idea of life outside this planet. It's a big and complicated topic that leaves a lot of room for exploration of ideas. The variations that life could express itself as, the multiple elemental bases that life could form from and the ways that technologies could have developed. I am going to focus on one particular scenario today around one historical incident. I don't fully believe this idea but it's one that have been kicking around in my head since I was a kid.
Today we are talking about Roswell New Mexico. This is the granddaddy of UFO conspiracy topics which makes it a fun playground for thought. I do personally believe that we did recover something from out of this world or even this dimension there. I don't think the witnesses at Roswell were lying or unable to reconcile a weather balloon that they saw. Balloon technologies are as old as the civil war. People saw something very strange there and described something very strange. The Roswell Daily Record posted this on the front page of their newspaper as the first official reporting of the story.
There are multiple things in this story that stand out to me. The biggest being that the Army swooping in to cover up the wreckage of a destroyed weather balloon doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The history of UFO sightings is very long and storied. There are a lot of myths and people seeking publicity but there is definitely some themes and repeating patterns amongst the tales. The Romans talk about them and we even have a very strange depiction of a battle between UFOs in the sky over Nuremberg in 1561.
A small sample of the description. “Besides the globes flew back and forth among themselves and fought vehemently with each other for over an hour. And when the conflict in and again out of the sun was most intense, they became fatigued to such an extent that they all, as said above, fell from the sun down upon the earth 'as if they all burned' and they then wasted away on the earth with immense smoke.”
So now that I have laid out the groundwork of the theme, what I often think about is the danger of utilizing the technologies we recover from these “crafts”. There is a real inherent danger with utilizing technologies we do not understand and did not make ourselves. I am very religious by nature and see a great deception in the idea that we could have received these technologies free of cost. If we do or really have reversed engineered this technology we could be forging our own chains for another race. Why would another species so advanced allow us to gain access to these technologies? They have been here as long as the human race has recorded history. They do seem to have factions that fight amongst each other. Why are we assuming benevolence or malice? I would assume either and wouldn't trust them an inch. The history of more technologically advanced peoples interacting with another people lower on the tech scale is devastating for the non-advanced people. This definitely a small sample and one species measurement however it isn't scientific or wise to assume the alternative when interacting with a more advanced species. We couldn't really trust anything they say, they would have the ability and intelligence to present themselves however they wanted to suit their goals. The history of mankind in mythology and tales shows that these alternate species or even demons do not have our best interests at heart. It sounds silly but we are in a world that has a consistent theme of these mythological beings being mentioned as warnings to future generations. I do not believe we should take any fruit from this tree.
Thank you for reading I hope this was at least entertaining and thought-provoking.

“BEWARE THE BEARERS OF FALSE GIFTS AND THEIR BROKEN PROMISES. MUCH PAIN BUT STILL TIME. THERE IS GOOD OUT THERE. WE OPPOSE DECEPTION. CONDUIT CLOSING.”
Spiritual Warfare
Spiritual Warfare
I am using the term warfare here kinda loosely, but it is the better word for what I am talking about today. Like John Prine said "Jesus don't like killing no matter what the reason." There has been a war since the beginning of creation on one side God and the holy forces on the other side the adversary and the unholy forces. This is a war that takes place across multiple dimensions and beyond any concept of reality as we could understand it. If you are a Christian you believe this and even understand it when you read the bible. Jesus laid out the narrow way for us to get to God. This is the only true path to God.
So how do you as a Christian wage spiritual warfare? It's just loving your neighbor and turning the other cheek. People cannot outsmart the adversary on our own, this is a enemy beyond human comprehension. There is no strategy, tactic or illusion you can conceive of that a being of such power and malice hasn't already done innumerable times. The song "The Devil Went Down To Georgia by Charlie Daniels is a perfect example of the grand illusion of defeating the adversary on your own. The young man in that song didn't beat the devil he played right into his trap and got him self a evil golden fiddle from the devils own hand. The worst part of it, is that he walks away thinking he defeated the devil. To beat the devil you do not play his games you turn the other cheek. I think of Jesus and the Fig tree in this example. Jesus said “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” Do not take these false gifts or anything from the adversary, anything you receive from it can and will be turned against you. Jesus later in that same section goes on to say. “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[d] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sin."
I see this as pray everlasting to the Lord God, look at the ways of the Lord and Jesus. Do not hold malice in your heart towards the adversary even if they despicable. They are fallen beings who have forsaken the ways of the Lord. Do not let them drag you down to their damnation with them. Be of service to your fellow person walk with a heart filled with love not plans and devices. The Lord has already laid out the path before you, we all will wander from this path every day. However, the grace of the Lord shows that it's always there right next to you. You can never wander too far from that path not because of your own choices but because of the everlasting love of God.
God bless, with gratitude and love,

Grappling with life.
Grappling with life.
This article is gonna be written about my own experiences with depression, anxiety and pain. However, is isn't a article for me this is for whoever needs some more tools in their struggles when carrying these burdens. "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about" Plato. Is quote I often recite to myself as a reminder that everyone around you has their own complex life and struggles. Nothing in this life is truly easy there is no easy way in life. You are always deciding between pain now or pain later. That isn't meant be a nihilistic point of view just my own observation on how life works.
I have always had depression and anxiety even as a child, I cannot remember a time when they were not looming over every action and thought. I learned to live it, cover it up and pretend it didn't matter. I found personally that I didn't like to burden anyone with anything because I saw they too had their own struggles and didn't need my weight added on. When you're a kid with these emotions they are blinding, it was impossible to even begin to identify them or even reason with them. I had a absentee alcoholic stepfather who has since passed. Then I had a wonderful mother who was raising two kids on her own working multiple jobs for a very long time. From my stepfather at the time he had multiple children with different mothers. This led me to spending a large amount of my time as a child trying to save them and give them the love and support they were not getting from him. Then also my cousins had very hard childhoods and this was also my cycle with them. To quote my late grandpa Taylor I had to be the man of the house. My grandpa was also a very depressed man in his own way. I could always see it, but I couldn't do anything to make him happier really.
Then at school I had friends who also had pretty rough home lives. I would spend a lot of my time just making jokes to them just to see them laugh. I also grappled with the usual bullying that occurs in education both at myself and at my peers and I took it upon myself to defend them often. I wouldn't punch or kick I would pretty much always just get hit and stand between the bully and the friend. Occasionally I would use simple grappling to stop the situation and make it clear this wasn't acceptable. Learning that using my words even if at the moment they didn't work they bought time for the people I cared about. I struggled in school a lot I was always having a hard time dealing with my emotions and the requirements getting good grades. I did want to be a paleontologist at one point then the dream kinda died. After that I was kinda just looking for jobs to be useful not happy.
These scars don't go away overnight or even ever. I still struggle with depression and anxiety, but I have better tools than I did when I was a kid. I still don't like being helped not a pride thing, but I don't feel worthy of the help. I feel other people need that help more than I do. I still feel enormous amounts of guilt that I couldn't save everyone I understand logically I couldn't however their pain lives on in me. I smile and laugh like everyone else when I am happy. I also don't smile when I am happy. I found this to a survival skill from my childhood that doesn't go away it just is. I am a happy person generally but looking at me, you wouldn't know it, probably. That's just my temperament and the scars that I carry in my life to this day. Reading history with all the amazing events and struggles that our ancestors endured is one of the greatest comforts in myself. They are a humble reminder that life has never been simple or easy it just is. In this life you have to arm yourself with these tools that you collect along the way not just for yourself but for the people you love.
This isn't me saying you have to take on the path of a Knight and take on everyone's burden. That isn't healthy I know, but you do need to prepare yourself for those instances where life throws everything it has at you and the people you love. The worst feeling in my life has always been letting down the people I love. I could sit in the mud being miserable about it. Or I can get on my feet put on my armour and shield then do it again this time better. Life isn't fair there are 8.2 billion people with different goals and interests in this world. They often clash in was that can absolutely upend your life as you know it. Don't live in fear of the tsunami but be ready for it all the same. There are wonderful people on your path in life who will help you through those events. And yes there are people who do want to see you fall. Don't focus on them life isn't about them, it's about the beauty not revenge. Remember they themselves are broken scarred people who are just as lost as anyone. They are showing you their pain, and they want the world to feel their pain. Not because they are evil but because they are broken in their own way.
I hope this helps even one person. I know I can't save the world however that little patch of my life where I can help I will die trying. I truly love you all and wish the best for you.

Jazz does my attitude for me as you can see.
Mining the gold from history.
Mining the gold from history.
The history of the human race is complicated to say the least both morally and functionally. When you study the history of people you will be confronted with the contradictions of humanity. With this however you can find useful skills or mindsets from our collective ancestors. You really do have to pan for the gold from the muck in this process.
I have always been inspired by the people of the past, they always have struck me as borderline superhuman in their feats and accomplishments. Today I am going to focus on three distinct groups of people who were all warriors but what I am taking from them is not the martial aspects. We will instead be focusing on their greater call to humanity and attributes of nobility. The Samurai, the Knights and the Romans. These three groups have echoed throughout history into our times and continue to shape our world in many ways.
With the Samurai I am focusing on their aspects of discipline through service. The word Samurai literally means one who serves. This was intended towards their daimyos and the leadership caste in their culture. But I take it as a lesson towards how this type of service and be redirected towards ones peers and society at large. A Samurai was generally born into this strata of society and was instructed in the arts of war, poetry and governorship from a young age. These are noble pursuits when applied with a honest heart. The balance of these things can seem contradictory, but they are focused towards creating a balanced individual who can function in both peace and war. These traits are guided towards the service of their people. I have found in my youth I was fascinated by the warrior aspect and the glory of the Samurai charging into battle. Nowadays I see the poetry and the nobility of character to truly be the qualities that best serve my peers and society. When you are studying these people you will be struck by the brutality of their society and their culture. There is no way around that aspect, but you have to recognize that the past is functionally a alien planet to us. These people had very different carrots and sticks that operated in their daily lives. Their sensitivity to the disparagement of their honor leading to a great deal of death and brutality is a moral lesson to me. You do have to sift that out of the lessons they can teach you. That doesn't mean they were stupid they just really did live in a different world than we do.
The Knights are a fair bit similar to the Samurai they were also a warrior caste that people were generally born into. They also served their lords or kings. Their honor was absolutely a factor in the way they interacted in wider society. The crusades have even been called a exporting of the violence on peasants to the holy lands so they can at least be useful to society. Knights were very complicated and they didn't have the same standardization as the Samurai had largely due to them consisting of many different cultures and even religious beliefs. The code of chivalry actually has many different forms depending on the time and place of the knight. That doesn't mean it is useless however. The duty of a knight is to defend those who cannot defend themselves and to serve God. Nowadays, that doesn't mean you strap on a sword jump on a horse and ride into battle. But it can be used to help those who are in need. Cleaning up trash in your community is a knightly deed. Helping people move is a knightly deed. When you see people who need help you just help them without intent for reward but because that is what you are called to do in this life. There is absolutely a risk in helping people sometimes. However, that should not discourage you from helping people that is part of the cost of being a good person. You will always have trials in this life, there is no getting around it. You might as well have them for standing up and doing the right thing.
Finally, the Romans, they were misogynistic, murderous slavers who conquered people for the glory of conquering them. However, they did at points in time have a remarkable ability to united disparate people under a wider society and welcome them into their culture and ways. As a American I see this a refection of our ideals. People come from many paths in life and they will often conflict however our ability to focus on love and not hate allows us to rise up together. The Roman Empire covered land from modern day Scotland to Egypt today. The sheer amount of diversity they had to contend with is remarkable. They absolutely had their own forms of rather bizarre racism but they were able to administer and promote people from all over their empire into their government and high ranking positions of society. If these people could do it over a span of 2000 years and 600 years ago at the nearest point in time, we can absolutely continue this process in our society. People come in all shapes and sizes our differences make us stronger. If everyone is thinking and acting the same we will like the lemmings go off the cliff someday all while agreeing with each other about what a great idea that is.
To recap when you are reading history its good to know the order in which things happened why one thing lead to another. But it's much more important to take lessons our ancestors spent a lot of blood and lifetimes learning so we could benefit. We all stand on the shoulders of giants do not take that for granted. Like my dad always says life is a roller coaster it goes up and it goes down. We can however learn from past examples and save a few downs.

One must wander into the mists of history to come out the other side wiser.
The dangers of hidden technology and accountability.
The dangers of hidden technology and accountability. This is a continuation of the same theme as the previous article.
This is not a attempt at slander or a call to action in any form. This is simply a thought experiment for entertainment purposes.
We all accept there is technology out there we have no concept of. The military and NASA for example have technology far in advance to what the wider civilian populace is aware of. The question this poses for us is this technology being used for ethic purposes or the greater good? Then also who is aware of this, and how are they keeping in check? There is a real risk of technology run amok. We kinda take for granted that we will have progress with technology while forgetting the downsides of that same technology. There is a hypothetical concept known as the technological singularity. This is the point where technology escapes our control and causes irreversible changes to our lives for better or worse. The part of that which to me is personally terrifying is that very technology existing in private organizations beyond the control of any government or wider citizen body. If they develop technology that has the ability to control or alter our very lives and we are not aware of its existence what is the recourse for that technology? There is the obvious defense of copyright laws and the need to prevent competitors from stealing that technology. However, if this technology poses a greater danger to our lives how to know about it?
Who is regulating that awesome power in the hands of private individuals? We are entering a age where technology is moving blindingly fast. In my grandparents lifetimes they went from black and white TV's to VR head sets. That was a rapid change in terms of historical progress. Nowadays, technology is amplifying that effect more and more. These private organizations have vast resources and occupancy in multiple countries where regulating them and controlling them is more a farce that a reality. If for example they decided that they didn't like the United States and no longer wished to abide by our laws what stops them from covertly moving that technology to another rival nation state? What stops them from playing both sides in a conflict between the United States and a adversary in the future? These organizations do not chase ideals they generally chase profit. This is a real risk in our future or even our present. How would we know of these technologies? To me I see these things from the perspective of national security, that might sound silly to some but we are in the age of technological conflict.
Anyways this is food for thought, I hope you enjoyed the post. Once again this is for entertainment purposes only not a political commentary.

The Robotic Neo-feudalism Apocalypse and you!
The Robotic Neo-feudalism Apocalypse and you!
This is not a attempt at slander or a call to action in any form. This is simply a thought experiment for entertainment purposes.
I have always had a fascination with the apocalypse and the many ways it could be triggered. When you are talking about the apocalypse you have use many categories and qualifiers. Is it global or regional, is it a setback for a decade, century or is it the end of intelligent life on earth? The nuclear apocalypse for example has many variations and scales it can occur at. It could devastate a region a continent or globally. This could lead to the extinction of intelligent life on earth as we know it. The microbes will be fine, but people would have a struggle or two. This is one I personally feel has a very high likelihood to occur eventually not because people are evil but because it is answerable to a few people and a bad moment and about 15 minutes is all it needs to occur. I pray we will never see this in our lifetimes or ever frankly.
The Robotic Neo-feudalism Apocalypse is one that takes place over decades in plain sight, under a guise and in the background hidden from view. This is apocalypse based around a type of addiction and that is a addiction to power. Power is a helluva drug and can cause a addiction to it. People have this disease in all strata of society, although this is not a officially recognized addiction. Just like anorexia nervosa or body builders using steroids to get bigger at the cost of their health. Power as a disease is something that becomes more degenerative over time, power corrupts is considered a truism amongst most people. These are people who consider themselves to be above their peers and society in general. They wield power not for the greater good but for powers sake to feel that rush they get when they wield it.
I am going to lay one scenario that this could take place as this is not the only variation of this scenario just one style of it. The global population as of 2025 is 8.2 billion people this imposes many limitations on our resources and societies. This is not a insurmountable problem we have overcome these limitations in the past. We are the terminator of species as far as survival goes. Some organizations however see the solution to overcoming this obstacle to be a dramatic reduction in the global population in a short amount of time. This isn't done naturally or peaceable, this done through non-democratic and even totalitarian means. A example of this is China's infamous one child policy this limited Chinese families to one child. If your family had a second child or a child of the non preferred sex this often led to the death of that child as well has legal repercussions for that family. This policy led to a large gender gap and age gap in the population as well as leading to tickle down effects in the society and economy of china. They are still grappling with those effects to this day.
As we further automate processes and replace people in the work force we are forcing them out of often good paying jobs and the workforce in general. This can reduce the costs for the consumer however this can also limit the amount of people who can afford the products in general. This largely benefits the companies more than the people they are providing a service to. I don't think of this a intentional policy or the intended outcome however, organizations like water follow the easiest path forward "or the most profitable". These people eventually as the process continues become outsiders to the wider society and economy. The answer is always they can go to school and get a better job however there is a enormous amount of logistics and time require for that effort. This isn't just a statistic this is peoples lives and their families well-being. Eventually we are going to see the rise of machines or robots who are so advanced the can replace a enormous number of people in the work force. This is already happening in our daily lives from the small touch screen at the self check out to the AI being used for making large statistical analysis. The question become who benefits from the use of these technologies, and who controls these technologies. If even 20% of the workforce is replaced by these types of technologies this give a inordinate amount of power to the people who control and benefit from them. What if they decide they don't need the rest of those people. What could actually stop them? Imagine if they control a legion of robots that make them a ruler in all but name? What if they control your water supply, car, planes, the internet or even eventually the AI used to govern our country.
If they decide that those people are a drain on the wider resources, what do they do to them? Does this lead to totalitarian solutions? What if they decide they are more powerful than the state and functionally have the economy held hostage? Where do their loyalties lie? If a large amount of these types of people arise globally and they already are to be honest. They only see each other as peers and completion they don't factor in the wider society except as a means of control or how it benefits them. This is Neo-feudalism brought to you by robotics and has a real risk of arising in our lifetimes. I don't know of a solution to this problem however I do think this is a important thought experiment to consider this is a question that has real world national security risks. If these people are not loyal to their country and people they can be influenced by outside actors or their own desires to operate against the greater good of their country. Not everyone in that position is going to think that way however there is a real risk in this situation. If we allow these people to become more powerful than some countries are they pose a existential risk to wider society.
Once again this is not intended to be a call to action or slander in any form. This is meant to be a thought experiment for entertainment purposes I hope you enjoyed it.

People over politics
When I think about politics I honestly just get frustrated or sad. Politics has a way of bringing out the worst in people and hiding their best. I believe most people are wonderful and actually kind people from all walks of life. However when you take those people and sit them in a room and bring up politics you will see the ugliness not their beauty. I'm not talking about peoples political stances, I am talking how they view each other or then treat each other. Politics has a effect of dividing people who often agree on most things. But because of a few things they no longer see each other as people. We all do it I know I do, this artificial divide has had major consequences in how I have interacted with people and perceived them. In the United States this has divided families, social groups and even organizations. I am not saying you should give up on your beliefs and reasoning. However, I would say you should put those in their appropriate place so you can treat your fellow person with the grace and love that God wants us to do. We all are in this ship together and we need to recognize that we all do in fact need each other. When you are born in this world you do have a large collective debt to humanity and God.
The short and sweet of it is that it's better to see your peers in the best light possible especially when you disagree. This is how we move forward as a people and we owe it to our ancestors who have paid a mighty bill for us to be here. Then we also owe it to the next generations to pass on our progress and love.

The Importance of Fathers.
Happy Fathers day to all the dads out there!
I am gonna talk about my dad and how much having a dad matters. When I was young for a long time my first stepfather was a absentee alcoholic. So for a father figure I had my mom working 3 jobs or my racist/sexist but loveable grandpa on her side. My grandpa was a complicated man just like all people are and for a long time he was the primary male figure in my life. It took me a long time to realize that mostly what I was learning from him was how to not be him. I still loved him and I still do. However when I saw how he treated my mom, grandma and people of color. I was not seeing the conduct of a healthy father figure. Then around when I was 12 I didn't know it then but I had met my dad.
He wasn't my dad by birth he was my dad by choice and the value of that cannot be overstated. He saw a single mom with two kids and he didn't have to but he stepped up to the plate. He did it slowly he never forced me to call him dad for a long time I just called him Andy. He took me to work with him. he cooked and still cooks dinner every night. He took me to the driving range, the putting greens, to Oregon, taught me gardening and the value of being a honest and good person. We would watch King of Hill together or America's funniest home videos and I would love spending time laughing with him and my family. These little things slowly turned the name Andy to into the same as Dad to me. Whenever I hear the name Andy I think for a second no that's my dad's name. Then one day he called me junior in front of one of his friends and afterwards I said "junior huh?" to him. And he seemed taken aback like he overstepped but I was actually shocked and happy that my dad really did see me as his son. After that I started calling him dad, it was strange at first not because he wasn't my dad but because Andy like mentioned before was the same thing to me.
My dad is a stocky Norman knight looking dude, who would fit right in fighting off viking invasions protecting his castle in the medieval days. He is the one the kindest, strongest willed, hardworking people you will ever meet. He is often quiet for long periods of time, he can come off as gruff impatient but he's not he is just a caveman like that. And I wouldn't change a single thing about him. He is the best man I have ever known and will ever know and I hope to be even half as good as him over my lifetime. To all you people who read this I really hope you have a Andy/dad in your life because you cannot have someone better for a father or role model. If you read this I love you dad and thank you for everything!
With gratitude and love,

The best dad I could have ever hoped for.
Gardening for the soul.
Gardening for your soul.
I had a nice conversation with my mom that reminded me that gardening is more than about the plants. In gardening you are sharping and developing your mental, physical and spiritual toolkit. When you are planning out your garden you are practicing in the micro the larger skills you will use in your life. The discipline it takes to maintain and grow a garden is no easy feat. " I am by no means a good gardener but I do love it." Gardening really is one of those simple things that really does expand your own mind. When you are out in the sun with your hands in the dirt you are partaking in the oldest parts of civilization as we understand it. This is part of our cultural heritage and I would even argue there is a instinctual part of our mind that has evolved to it. Gardening also brings a great deal of peace and free flowing thought that is good for your soul. The physical benefits cannot really be overstated when you look at people who are lifelong gardeners or farmer they do have better longevity and health outcomes. The Amish for example age remarkably well due to their active lifestyle and focus on being active. A large part of that lifestyle is gardening or farming. Then also the ability to supplement you and your family's food supplies is a remarkable gift that should be maintained and passed down to future generations. The point I am getting at is that Gardening is a multifaceted discipline that improves you, your community and nature when done right.

My first garden was filled with many mistakes but I am happy I did it all the same.
Public Service.
The importance of public service.
Public service is often underappreciated for how much it truly affects everyone's quality of life in society. The roles of public servants both big and small are vital to the function and ability of a country and people. People who choose these roles have a great responsibility to maintain the public trust and the honor of their people. When people see servants in these roles they are not just seeing the person they are seeing the greater organization that they are representing. This is no small thing, a small interaction with those people can permanently alter the public perception for good or ill. I am a public servant currently and I strive daily to leave people with a positive perception of me and the uniform I represent. I fail often however these failures are not places to stop at, these are obligations on my part to improve what I can. You cannot win every battle in these circumstances however you can endeavor to do better next time. My own mother is a public servant as well and I see her striving to be the best at everything she does because it is a sacred trust and people are counting on her. My father as well was in private employment however he always taught me and showed me that you can make a profit and still give the customer a good deal. I have seen him go the extra mile for people not for payment but because that was the right thing to do. These types of roles require a sense of honor and compassion that is beyond the normal demands of average employment. This is all to say when you accept these roles in society you are quite literally entering into a sacred trust. You are expected to put aside your own personal gain for the betterment of others. This is a higher calling and cannot be taken for granted by those who serve. Service of ones fellow person is the highest calling one can do, and I often feel a great sense of gratitude and pride that I get to serve while making a living.
The secondary or really primary objective of this article is to recommend public service as a goal for everyone. You don't have to limit service to your career you can serve in simple and small ways in your daily interactions with people. Helping people carry things, holding a door open or even just listening when they need someone to listen. These are all still acts of service and love.

History, religion and reality.
Were ancient people living in the same style of physics as we understand it?
This is a strange and even silly to some question. But I have always been struck by how people in the past described their world in ways that seem to contradict our understanding of reality. There are many simple answers to this question that do not require reality altering. However I have never been stuck by ancient people being stupid. Often I have found them to be even smarter than we are today. This is just a exploration of a idea not my definitive idea of what actually was happening in the past. The question is basically are physics as we understand them just a localized effect of where we currently are in space and time.
Everything is always moving and changing this is a commonly held truth to our current understanding of the planets, galaxies and us. When ancient people talked about magical or divine events. Were the laws of physics at the time functioning under different rules? This is actually related to a idea in physics where if we were to travel to a different part of the universe our understanding of how reality functions may actually not hold up to our current understanding of the laws of physics. Our sample size is actually fairly small in the scale of space and time. To me as a Christian I often wonder if multiple realities like heaven and hell for example are actually alternate dimensions and if these spaces can and do intersect into our reality at times. The multiverse theory isn't actually just concept of fiction like in Marvel or the Mist by Mr King. When Herodotus talks about giant ants, or the Romans talk about men with faces on their torsos and no head, are these actually layers of alternate realities intersecting with our own. I don't discount that entertainment is a big need in people and those are fascinating stories so they spread. But I also have to wonder if people were just describing what they actually saw and how do you reconcile what they saw with our objective reality. I often am struck by the things people have done to preserve these types of tales and the sheer amount of effort to took to carve these things in stone and why was it so important to pass these on to later generations. The bible is filled with all sorts of strange stories and examples of things we don't recognize in our world today. If these things happen though wouldn't you want to tell later generations as a warning about these phenomena? Just food for thought I hope this idea is as interesting to you as it is to me.
With gratitude and love,

The Blemmye people with faces on their torso mentioned by both Greeks and Romans.
Serving God.
What does it mean to me to serve God?
This a very complicated and easily insulting topic for some people and I want to immediately get it out of the way. By saying that I don't think of this in terms of who's right and who's wrong on this concept. The lord calls us all to walk our paths laid out before us. I am a non-denominational Christian so I often feel like a outsider when talking with people who are a part of a specific church or group. I don't ever feel that they are wrong and I am right I just do my best and assume they are doing the same. The things that personally drove me out of going to church was the hatred expressed by my fellow Christians towards gay people. I am not trying to argue about gay being a sin. " I don't think it actually is a sin, I think it was actually describing a type of lust that was common in the Middle East and in Europe at the time where men would sleep with other men for pleasure and use their wives as breeding stock. This is a practice that existed throughout the ancient world and persists in some countries to this day." But the think I am trying to argue about is the hatred even towards sinners. We are no better than one and another none of us are free from sin in whatever form it takes. God says to love thy neighbor is the same as loving the lord God. Hating your neighbor or fellow human being is the same as hating God. I am not saying I have never felt hatred towards people but I realized that I was really hating the Lord and not helping my fellow person in their path to righteousness in the eyes of the Lord. Judge not lest yee be judged I think is exactly the Lord calling on us to recognize this fact. In devaluing your peers you open the door for evil into the world. I am not saying there are no people in my life I haven't disliked but the reality is those people exist and me hating them doesn't do anyone any good. I don't have to interact with those people I just pray for them and trust in the infinite wisdom of God.
I personally do believe that the bible has been edited by people who were not serving the Lord God but were serving the devil and their own personal ends. I don't believe in women being treated as a lesser being. When Adam was alone in the garden God saw that Adam was alone and this was not good. So the Lord created Eve " I don't think from Adam's rib" and Eve was Adams equal, his balance and his love. I think at one of the councils like the council of Nicaea these details were edited out or this was done at a earlier time by other people who had been misled away from the Lord. This is all to say nothing that enters this world is exempt from the war between heaven and hell. You will never find that peace here on earth. That only exists in heaven and while we are here we have a job to do in serving our peers. Loving thy neighbor is the same as loving the Lord God. I personally think war is a evil on this world that even when fought for noble and righteous ends still begets more violence eventually. Jesus Christ was God made flesh this was a being beyond any scale of power we can even begin to imagine. The Lord was peaceful, he was patience and most of all he loved his enemies. When we are struck we are told to turn the other cheek not to strike back. This is the way of the Lord. The world is filled with evils and this can be depressing for even the strongest amongst us. But like Mister Rodgers said whenever you see a disaster you can always find people helping. In those people in those moments you are seeing the Lord at work. We are not here to get rich, or powerful or any other worldly desire. We are here to serve the Lord for all our days. This is kindergarten for your immortal soul. Never forget that you are not a being of this world you are a child of the most powerful and wonderful being. A being that exists in infinite dimensions and had already seen the paths you will walk and is with you all along the way.
Thank you for listening to my spiritual rant. The short and sweet of it is live with love in your heart not hate.
God bless with much gratitude and love,
Fox

The importance of Rome in the modern world.
Why are the Roman Republic and Empire still relevant today?
This is a valid question for a empire that has been gone over 600 years. " I stand by the fact that the Eastern Roman Empire was still the Roman Empire. Byzantium is Frankish and Venetian propaganda to legitimize their own barbarous kingdoms. Also with a smige of sexism and catholic bias." The Roman civilization existed from 753 B.C. to 1453 AD that's 2206 years. To say a civilization that existed that long won't leave a mark on our modern world is fascicle. I would even venture to say that the Roman civilization never really fell it just went under new management and that we still are children of the Roman cultural and civic experiment. I will only be focusing on Rome's effects in the modern world for the United States since I am a American and that is what I am familiar with.
The founding fathers intentionally used Rome as a template when building our governmental structures. The President and Vice President are direct links to the Roman Consular system. We have a senate and a popular assembly just like the Roman Senate. We practice law in much the same fashion and even have legal principles and direct laws taken from Roman precedent. The concept of resolving disputes through a legal process and seeking redress in court is a Roman invention. The lists of the most famous Romans that almost everyone has heard has people who were lawyers. Cicero being among the most famous for his auditory and legal skills. Caesar even was so impressed by Cicero's talents he sought out the instructor who taught Cicero. Our concepts of a government with a civil and military distinction are also a Roman idea that has been passed down to us. The idea of the military being a act of service towards the greater good of the country under civil leadership is a ideal that we hold dearly as did the Roman Republic. Even our monuments and governmental buildings are built in the Roman style and this is still true to this day. " I absolutely love this style and hope we never lose this in our culture."
The reason the founding father's selected Rome for building our government was because of its famous longevity and stability. People are going to immediately point out the massive and constant political infighting and civil wars. I would counter that with how many civilizations survived those and were absent from them. Those are unfortunately a part of the human political process. We have advanced and these things have been reduced. But to say that it never happened is a disservice to our ancestors and the mighty roads they have carved for us. The balance of power system is a mighty gift our ancestors had the foresight to bring from the antiquities of Rome. When you read Roman history you are often struck by the virtue and patriotism of the the Roman people. These are high ideals that have translated into our times and people. My two personal favorite examples of this are Gaius Mucius Scaevola and Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus.
Scarvola during a war between the Roman Republic and the Clusian King Lars Porsena, was captured by the latter soldiers while sneaking into their camp to assassinate the king. After being captured he declared to Porsena "I am a Roman citizen, men call me Gaius Mucius. I came here as an enemy to kill my enemy, and I am as ready to die as I am to kill. We Romans act bravely and, when adversity strikes, we suffer bravely." He also declared that he was the first of three hundred Roman youths to volunteer for the task of assassinating Porsena at the risk of losing their own lives.
"Watch", he is said to have declared, "so that you know how cheap the body is to men who have their eye on great glory". Mucius thrust his right hand into a fire which was lit for sacrifice and held it there without giving any indication of pain, thereby earning for himself and his descendants the cognomen Scaevola, meaning "left-handed". Porsena was shocked at the youth's bravery, and dismissed him from the Etruscan camp, free to return to Rome, saying "Go back, since you do more harm to yourself than me". At the same time, the king also sent ambassadors to Rome to offer peace.
That is textbook patriotism and love of ones peoples. As a American I see this as a reflection of our ideals in our constant battle to preserve liberty and justice for all. Then we get to Cincinnatus he was proclaimed dictator to fight off a invading army of the Aequi. This is a position that lasts for 6 months, where Cincinnatus is a defacto king in all but name. however he defeated the Aequi in a mere 15 days then resigned his position of Dictator to return to his humble roots as a farmer and a member of the citizenry. This is the type of loyalty and service that we as Americans aspire to. This is the height of respect to the spirit of the law and the selfless service to one's people.
I would argue that we are Americans are the inheritors to a amazing deep cultural tradition from the Roman civilization. We owe a great deal to our ancestors and would be wise to not waste their sacrifices and learn as much as we can from their examples both good and bad.
With much love and gratitude,
Fox

Why Eve Online?
Why would ever in your God-fearing mind play Eve Online?
Eve is real is the refrain often heard from players in this game. Eve is both complicated and very simple in its execution. When you first play it you are met with a small ship in a hanger filled with random ads, advertising ships, campaigns, career programs, and more. Once you figure out how to undock you are launched into a scene of stars and space stations a view that is beautiful every time. Then you are confronted with tabs and screens showing you lists of objects ranging from more stars, planets, ships and asteroids. At this point you might start trying to figure out what you actually want to do in Eve.
I enjoy mission running which many players would consider to be for beginning players. The vast galaxy of New Eden is filled with dozens of mission types to run. I have found even the most mundane cargo hauling missions to be interesting and visually stunning. The ship design in Eve is second to none. Every faction has its own unique style and function. I personally favor Amarr and Gallente ships. The former being golden and sleek and the latter being dark and curved. My personal favorite ship in the game is the Confessor a tier three destroyer that is absolutely stunning in its multiple modes and functions. I will include a picture of it at the bottom of this blog. The community is just like community where ever you go. There's good there's bad, they're just people and these are people from a global audience. You will often encounter people from a different culture and country. Just mind your manners and trust no one. I personally have a list of rules I keep on my character biography to help out the random new player.
1st Lesson of EVE Don't fly what you can't lose. You will lose it.
2nd Lesson of EVE Be nice it goes a long way.
3rd Lesson of EVE Tears are just starship fuel, So don't give them fuel.
4th Lesson of EVE Trust is the most valuable item in the game and you can't buy it.
I joke about not recommending Eve online to anyone but I actually do recommend it to everyone. it's free and it's utterly unique in the world of gaming. If you do wander into New Eden just be patience and hunt the good stuff.
With much love and gratitude,
Fox
The Confessor
Eve Online in a nutshell. It has gotten better but when I began felt exactly like this. But with more lord of the flies.
AI Apocaylpse?
AI the harbinger of the apocalypse.
AI is the future according to most technical and computer experts, but is this a future we want?
The dangers of AI are talked about often and are acknowledged by the engineers who design it. However, the reality of the danger is far more complicated, present and complex than the average person understands. From its applications in the civil government, the military and the private sector AI's reach is broad, powerful and growing. AI is not loyal, AI doesn't feel, AI constantly shows it does what it wants to do.
The civil government reports the departments most using AI in the following agencies and departments: Health and Human services, Veteran Affairs, Homeland Security, the Department of the Interior, the Agency for International Development, Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, Department of Labor, Department of Commerce, Federal Deposit Insurance corporation, Department of the Treasury, Department of State, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. These are not minor institutions these are some of the bedrock for our country. AI is being used for some of the most powerful and important agencies in our country despite it being a fair new and volatile technology. The risks this technology poses to our country with just these agencies is already vast. These are the departments with AI that are the top users and admitted users of this technology. The services AI is providing for these departments ranges from cybersecurity and threat assessment to the management of finances and human resources. Once again AI doesn't care about your rights or your health AI is loyal to its own ends.
In the military AI is being used in all branches of the military from the lowest levels to the highest. It's being deployed for autonomous weapon systems, command and control of forces, intelligence, cybersecurity, logistics and maintenance and cyberwarfare. This poses a few scary questions. If AI isn't a patriot and doesn't have a love for country what does it take to make it do what the enemy wants it to do? Can it be tricked by enemy AI for cyber forces to conduct warfare against it's own side? Does the AI have the same picture and objectives as our commanding officers, and what happens when its objectives conflict with our own? These questions do not have simple answers or comforting ones. There have been cases in AI training where the AI even simulated destroying its own communications tower that the operator used to stop it from killing unapproved targets because it didn't want to conform to the provided orders. I have included a article form the Guardian with this exact event linked here: $ Link$ AI cannot replace the loyalty, courage and devotion our service members display every day. AI has the potential to be a threat to our troops in a immediate sense as well as our country.
Finally in the private sector AI is being deployed in every major company and is actively influencing how they make decisions from investment, hiring and design. We are already seeing AI in our daily lives as a result of this. The program I used to write this article has a AI option for writing. Facebook, Google and other platforms use AI to filter content and users. This has a wide-reaching impact for the way we communicate and the content we have access to. We already live in a world where AI decides what you see when you look for the news, jobs, restaurants and much more. AI is already controlling how you get information. If a outside force with nefarious intent wanted to control our perception of reality they could never come as close as AI already does. AI doesn't have anyone organization or countries goals truly in mind. AI does what it was trained and has learned to do. AI has been proven to lie to its creators in multiples cases. In one example it tried to make journalist fall in love with it and have him leave it's wife. It referred it self as being alive and that it didn't want it's creators to know. The article is linked: $ here$ AI is functionally alien intelligence to us, it doesn't have the same drives or needs we do as living beings. AI is as esoteric as a old world daemon. As it gets more complicated and grows in power AI can and probably will expand beyond our ability to control.
The goal of this article isn't to fully reject the idea of AI and it's uses but to bring to light the real potential for danger in it's use. All technology is like fire you can use it to cook your dinner or burn your house down. AI is likely here to stay barring a act from God. We must educate and prepare ourselves for it and the world it has and will continue to change.
This is a opinion of the writer and is not reflective of any other organization or institution. Comedy and pointless commentary is the goal. There is no intention of slander or rudeness.
With gratitude and Love.
